P2B Disputes

Access to justice for the digital economy

We are an independent, non-profit association established in Spain to promote effective, accessible and professional dispute resolution in the digital environment.

Access to justice for the digital economy

Our broader purpose is to contribute to a fairer, safer and more trustworthy digital economy by providing neutral mechanisms through which disputes can be resolved without unnecessary cost, delay or procedural complexity.

Starting with P2B

Our initial focus is dispute resolution under the EU Platform-to-Business Regulation, particularly within the hospitality, accommodation, travel and tourism sectors.

This is an area in which the combination of cross-border commerce, platform dependence and relatively specialised disputes makes traditional court proceedings particularly unattractive.

Working with European dispute-resolution expertise

We cooperate closely with ADROIT in Malta.

The ADROIT team has substantial practical experience in European online dispute resolution and in managing disputes involving digital platforms.

Through this cooperation we combine:

The Association nevertheless retains its institutional autonomy and administers its services independently. Individual mediators are required to remain independent and impartial in every case.

  • dispute-resolution experience;
  • platform regulatory expertise;
  • legal and commercial expertise;
  • online case-management technology; and
  • practical experience operating cross-border dispute-resolution procedures.

Technology supporting human dispute resolution

Our procedures are technology-enabled, but dispute resolution remains a human process.

Digital systems can improve case intake, communication, document management, translation and efficiency.

They do not replace the independent professional responsible for the mediation.

No solely automated system decides the dispute or issues an Early Resolution Recommendation.

A broader mission

Our statutory objects extend beyond P2B mediation.

The Association has been established to develop and support appropriate forms of mediation, ADR and online dispute resolution where traditional mechanisms may be ineffective or disproportionate because of:

Our P2B service is the first practical expression of that broader objective.

  • cross-border complexity;
  • language barriers;
  • jurisdictional issues;
  • technical complexity;
  • cost; or
  • delay.
